Leaders’ last lap!
Indeed both divisions could be decided this week, although Division 2 requires a heavy victory by The Tavern.
In Division 1 however, long-time leaders Scruffy Macs need to hurdle just three points from The Pub to ensure first place in the winner’s enclosure!
A valiant effort by Pas O Nadas earned them a 6-2 win over the Playboys, but it may only be enough for second spot.
There may well be a stewards’ inquiry for third place, with Gaffers, Phoenix and The Pub all in the running.
Of that trio, only Phoenix played last week, picking up a handy six points at Boothen. Elsewhere, Spear Chuckers cemented at least a 6th-place finish with a 6-2 victory over Palms Sports Bar.
In Division 2, Palms Pool Bar look to have fallen at the final hurdle after being unseated 5-3 at Naughty Nautas.
This leaves The Tavern needing eight points from tonight’s fixture (Friday) with Picassos to guarantee top spot, after their photo-finish draw at Bar 180. They will have to giddy-up to do that, but you never know!
The Picassos gang could still be overtaken by the galloping Bar 180 for third place, so their 5-3 win at Sundowners proved important.
Clouseaus made it three wins on the trot, taking six points from the Playgirls, while a four-man Emerald Lounge barely got into a canter, losing 5-3 at Legends.
Meanwhile, Marilyns A took the last rubber for a dead-heat with Pas O Nadas B, and Rood held the reins tightly for a last-leg victory at home against Marilyns B.
