It’s still looking cloudy

TENERIFE have finished the first third of the season with just 13 points, the same total they had in the fateful 2010-2011 season, when they were relegated to Segunda B.

After 14 games played, they are just above the relegation zone with 13 points from a possible 42, and many followers fear that the same fate is stalking the club!

On December 8th, 2010, Tenerife finished 14 games in the relegation places, with only three victories to their credit, four draws and seven defeats. Last weekend Oltra’s men ended his match at El Sadar with a 2-0 defeat.

But, thanks to a stumble by Cordoba, the island’s main team has not slipped into the league table’s danger spots again, although they have been able to win just two games, draw a whopping seven and lose five.

These are poor numbers, comparable with those of the season in which Tenerife lost their place in professional football.

The side, now in 18th place, have achieved only 30.9% of the available points, and the main problem is still a lack of goals. The club’s top scorers are Malbasic, Naranjo and Bryan, all with only two goals apiece!

Another obvious problem is that in the 14 games played, not one has seen the same starting X1. Milla and keeper Dani are the only players to have appeared in all the matches.
