Graffiti vandals at work in Teide’s National Park

TENERIFE Cabildo is cracking down on graffiti hooligans, who are having a field day in Teide’s National Park.

Guardia Civil officials have received a detailed report of the graffiti, which involves several pictures, as well as scribbles, found by visiting walkers, and those who mountain-climb around Las Cañadas, and along the Alto de Guajara routes.

The Guardia will apply sanctions to the “artists” because it is considered to be an ecological attack within a World Heritage Site.

The Canarian Government has already made it clear that hooligans, defacing any natural landmarks or buildings inside the park, could face fines of up to 600 euros, as well as paying the restoration costs.
