A golfing bonanza for cancer charity

THREE-TIME world darts champion John Lowe held his annual Charity Golf Classic in Tenerife for the 14th consecutive year, sponsored by Aberdeen Property Leasing.

A record 33 teams took part on the Amarilla golf course, in an event recognised as being one of the best tournaments of the year.

Pink was the order of the day, with all proceeds going to the AMATE cancer charity, and a whopping sum of 10,600 euros was raised through the golf fees, plus sponsorship, raffles and an auction.

Entertainment was courtesy of Spencer Robson and Ged Boulton, with Simon Shovlar hosting the event and Roscoe, from Power ON FM, handling the auction.

John Lowe, on hand for a few words, was overwhelmed with the support, and the sum of money raised.

There were two divisions for the golf, in a four-man Texas Scramble format, which saw Pinehurst Bar win Division Two with 58.3 points, and Team Oasis Fm, comprising Chris Elkington, Alan Harding, John Wilmot and Patrick Davies, win Division 1, courtesy of an amazing 11-under score of 55.9.

Sincere congratulations to everyone involved for a fantastic day, and roll on next year!
