Get your boots on!

The fourteenth edition of the programme includes a wide variety of walks and excursions covering the whole of 2007 including both Canarian and national destinations.

One such excursion is the trip organised by the town council to Galicia in Holy Week. The aim of the trip is to give residents of the borough the opportunity to visit the Parque Nacional de las Islas Atlanticas.

Adeje council’s Environmental department also organised a walk to the Cumbres of Anaga  (Anaga mountains) in the North East of the islands last weekend as part of the “Ponte las botas” programme of hikes around the island.

Twenty nine people took part in the walk which began just outside La Laguna in the Cruz del Carmen area. The walkers were accompanied by three qualified monitors who gave a commentary on the wide variety of wildlife and plants which is found in the area while they approached the Pico del Ingl�s.

The walk took around three and a half hours and the youngsters had the opportunity to see some of the most spectacular scenery on the island.

Adeje town council has also organised a photography competition for the young people residents in the borough. The competition “Adeje visto por los jovenes” Adeje from a “young” point of view, is open to anyone aged between 16 and 30 whether they are professional or amateur photographers and the total prize money available amounts to 1,400 euros.
