Finals Night such a delight

CAMP Nauta played host to the Darts League finals night, and what a fantastic competition it turned out to be.

First to the oche were Karen, Gio and Ann, from Pas O Nadas B, facing Loch-In B’s Lynn, Nikki and Marie in the Division 2 Ladies Trebles, the Los Abrigos girls coming home first.

The next trophy was the Division 2 Men’s Trebles, featuring the Marilyn’s B, trio of Alex, Dave and Neil. And, in their first final, they took Legends’ Chris, Jim and Alan to the last game before conceding 2-1 in a close encounter.

The clash of the heavyweights came next in the Division 1 Men’s Trebles, when Boothen’s Sam, Steve and Joe tackled Pas O Nada A’s boys Richard, Walter and Andy. The match swung both ways before Boothen emerged victorious by the odd game in five.

The Loch-In B team were represented by all four players in the Ladies’ Division 2 Doubles. But could Lynn and Nikki avenge their Trebles defeat by overcoming team colleagues Jackie H and Jackie F?

The answer, unfortunately for them, was No, because the 3-1 scoreline gave the Jackies their first trophy together.

Legends’ Chris and Alan were back in action, playing John Boy and Fudder, from Ourplace Breakaways, in the Division 2 Men’s Doubles, with the Legends completing a 3-0 success.

The Men’s Division 1 Doubles was a tasty affair, with Tom and Telf, from Scruffy Macs, playing rivals Rob and Tomo, from Spear Chuckers.

Excellent darts were anticipated, and how they flew… until Scruffy’s claimed the silverware by a 3-1 margin.

The final of the Division 2 Ladies’ Singles followed, and Gio, from Pas O Nadas B, and Loch-In B opponent Jackie, needed no introduction.

In a match which was a privilege to score, Gio took the honours 2-1, and then produced a victory dance which would not have been out of place on Strictly Come Dancing!

In the Division 2 Men’s Singles, Buzzin B’s Rob was drawn against two-time winner Chris, from Legends, and the latter continued his good form in a 3-0 win.

Mr Oasis Darts League himself, Phoenix Bar’s Mitch, was on the oche in the last match-up, the Division 1 Singles, against Loch-In A’s Wayne. And after some superb darts, Mitch took the trophy, thanks to his superior finishing.

A big hand, please, for hosts Debbie and Ray for their amazing food and hospitality, for the organiser’s scorers, as well as all who helped to provide an excellent evening’s entertainment. You know who you are!

I’m looking forward to presentation night already.

A catch-up match was played on Sunday, when Loch-In B hosted Red Devils, and Luc’s visitors strolled to a 7-1 victory.
