Family trio held for ‘selling’ girls

THREE men have been arrested in Tenerife, charged with human trafficking and sexual exploitation.

The trio, aged 25-55, have no previous convictions, and, say the cops, they are members of the same family.

Investigations started last October when the National Police got wind of a website on which human trafficking, along with helping illegal immigrates, was evident, and the probe resulted in the three men being identified.

The victims were forced to prostitute themselves from a rented Tenerife apartment, while being controlled, constantly, by one of the ringleaders.

The young women, who had travelled from Venezuela, had entered the island  as tourists. But they were aware they were not coming for a holiday, and it soon became clear what the men’s motives were.

Two victims managed to free themselves from their nightmare, thanks to the National Police probe.
