Fabulous food, banter and a thriving league

IT is a pleasure to report that we are receiving positive responses from all our league teams, with good banter, excellent darts and fabulous food at all venues.

In the Los Abrigos battle, the Phoenix bar’s mixture of youth and experience could not match the older heads of Pas O Nadas A, who took the game 6-2, with Andy hitting a maximum for the visitors.

The Tavern welcomed the Playboys and, in a close match, the trebles proved decisive as Fluffy’s boys pinched the leg and the points 5-3.

In the David v Goliath encounters, there was no giant-killing as Gaffers, thanks to Joe’s 180 and 16-dart finish, came away from Sundowners with a 7-1 win, and The Pub recorded the same score at Emerald Lounge.

In a marathon leg at Picasso’s, the winning double 1 came after over 200 darts had been thrown. The players have asked for anonymity, of course, but I can tell you it wasn’t me!

The rest of the match saw some iffy doubles, but Loch-In A continued their fine recent form, winning 7-I.

It’s still neck and neck at the top of Division 2, with ruthless Sandy’s winning 7-1 at home against Bar Leones. But Legends missed out on a win after Buzzing B’s pinched the trebles and a well-deserved draw.

Pas O Nadas welcomed Nutty Nautas and, though a fantastic night was had by all, the hosts were more than happy with a 7-1 scoreline.

Nauta Nomads had a much closer match when entertaining Clouseau’s, but they emerged with a 5-3 win. There was another last-leg finale at Marilyns B, and Luc’s experience helped the Red Devils take the 701 game to win the match 5-3.

Another match decided on the last leg was played out as Naughty Nautas overcame an Ourplace Breakaways team, inspired by Dick Barton, to win 5-3.

High-flying Marilyns A, who had Ed and Duncan in top form, went on to record a 6-2 win at Loch-In B’s San Blas venue.
