Drug-driver runs over teenager and kills him

THE 14-year-old British boy, run over and killed in Ibiza on New Year’s Day, was hit by a car driven by an alleged drug-taking woman.

The teenager was struck while “in the middle of the road”, according to the Guardia Civil.

The incident occurred at around 10.30pm, just a day after the boy had celebrated his New Year’s Eve birthday.

Initially, the driver was believed to be a man, driving his family in a Ford Fiesta, who later tested negative for alcohol and drugs.

However, it has since been proved that the driver was actually his partner, a 29-year-old Spanish woman. The man was said to have incriminated himself, knowing that his drug-and-alcohol test would be negative.

The Guardia believed the woman had consumed drugs before the tragic incident, and investigating officers are currently awaiting the final results to be confirmed.

If the drug and alcohol test results prove positive, the woman will be charged with a “crime against road safety and reckless homicide”.
