Club Activo so active!
STARTING with League 2, on Week 17, Club Activo, who travelled to Marilyns, won the first four games 2-0, then had a slight blip, and lost the fifth game 2-0.
But normal service was resumed, and they won the remaining games without reply, to complete a 7-1 scoreline. It would be unkind to mention the unlucky loser, but Graham said: “One of us had to lose, so it had to be me!”
There are some kind words from Graham, on the Facebook page, well worth a look.
Pink Elephant welcomed Ourplace Playgirls, and what a welcome! They took the singles for a 5-0 lead, but the Playgirls are made of sterner stuff, taking both doubles, before losing out in the trebles, so a 6-2 success for Pink Elephant.
Sundowners entertained Palms Sports Bar and were doing fine at 2-2, including Ash with a 180. But they lost the last four, for another 6-2 result.
Picasso’s hosted Ourplace Breakaways, and, despite the Facebook forecast saying it could have gone either way, it finished 7-1 to the home side.
Pas O Nadas travelled to The Club House, and this was always going to be close, or so I thought. It went to The Club House 7-1, and Charlie boy deserves a mention for his 120 check-out.
Finally, in League 2, in-form Emerald Lounge travelled to Naughty Nautas, and, again, it finished with a one-sided 7-1 result, the Emerald celebrating another good win, with Laura producing her first 2-0 success. But the Clouseau’s v Scooters & Chevys B fixture was postponed.
Division 1 was bound to have some closer matches, so let’s start with Gaffers#Teamhollywood hosting The Waterfall. Some hosts they turned out to be, running away with an 8-0 victory, but I can’t tell you any more than that: nothing on Facebook, and team-sheet not photographed!
Meanwhile, Emerald B were at home to Suters 20;30 Crew, and with three legs to Emerald, you’ve guessed it… another 8-0. But Captain Jackie wasn’t too despondent.
“Thanks to Grant and the boys,” she said. “Great evening of darts. Would like to say that there were some close games, but I would be lying, lol. Well done to Ken, who managed two legs and Jackie F one, which was our total sum for the match. Still, a great evening, as always, with the crazy gang.”
On to Sandys Bandits, at home to Mad Hatters, and it’s all a bit repetitive because it was another 8-0 scoreline, to the visitors.
More good sportsmanship on Facebook, where John put: “Sandy’s 0 Madhatter 8. A great night with the Bandits. A pity they didn’t have a full , but still the normal atmosphere and welcome when you play there. Thanks to all for a great night, and the new, wee, Sandy’s team member is a cracker.”
Pas O Nadas International travelled all the way to The Pub, and, despite a close match at last, they didn’t waste their trip. They came through with a 5-3 win, all down to some very good finishing, by all accounts.
Pas O Nadas A had a visit from The Loch Inn Bullseyes to contend with, and contend with it they did, winning 7-1. But there were some quality darts from both teams: Richard (Daddy Cool) with two 180s, and the Loch Inn’s Iain with a 171.
Finally, Ourplace Playboys met Sandys Bookie boys, who ran into a 4-0 lead, with a 180 along the way for Jim. Playboys pulled one back, and a 180 for Del Boy. But the resistance ended there, and it ended 7-1.
