Binters Birthday

Company president Pedro Agustin del Castillo explained that the new planes will cost around 90 million euros adding that they will be used to reinforce existing routes between the islands as well as routes between the islands and Africa and the Spanish mainland although he did not dismiss the possibility of introducing new routes to Madrid and Barcelona next year.

The president did however underline the the new aircraft will not be incorporated all at once adding that two of the planes will form part of the fleet this summer , two the following year and the final two in Summer 2009.

Binter has of course moved with the times. Over the last eighteen years it has become a modern company offering the possibility of booking on line and has installed ticket dispensers in many airports. Furthermore referring to recent investigations into contamination caused by airplanes del Castillo pointed out that the new planes consume less fuel and as such produce less pollution.

Company records indicate that Binter carried out 650,000 flights last year carrying three million passengers. The company predicts between 6 and 7% more passengers this year and takings of over 200 million euros.
