Beware of the heat!

Accion del Sol news

WITH the weather starting to warm up, please remember to take extra care with your dogs, ensuring that they are not left unsupervised in cars, even for a short time.

The temperature can rise extremely quickly, causing unecessary stress, and even death. We would also advise you to walk your dogs early in the morning and/or later on in the evening, to avoid the heat of the day. Remember that the high temperature of the pavements can burn your pets’ paws. Please ensure that your dog has lots of access to shade and plenty of cool water.

Summer also brings even larger amounts of abandoned dogs to our refuge, so please do come and visit us if you are interested in adopting.

Fundraising event

Our next fundraising event is on Saturday,7th July, when you will have the chance to view the kennels and see our many dogs. Please do come along and show your support.

We are always looking for dog-walkers, so, if you have a little spare time, please do come to the refuge and make a dog very happy.

Assistance required

Please contact us if you can assist in any way on 922 778630. We always need tinned dog-food for our older animals, plus blankets, towels, sheets, dog toys, collars and leads. You can call into the Accion refuge on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons, from 2-5pm, and Saturdays between 1-4pm.
