Ambulances roll out for quick-fire birth of baby!

THREE ambulances and their crews assisted a woman in labour at a petrol station in Tenerife’s northern municipality of La Guancha.

Staff at San Juan de Las Ramblas garage witnessed the birth of a healthy baby girl on Tuesday after the young mum-to-be had a feeling her baby was on its way.

She contacted a family member around midday to drive over and take her to the hospital, but while they were on the way, she realised that things were moving even quicker than she thought they were. She was certain she was going in full labour, and that the birth was imminent.

With that, the family member pulled over into the nearest petrol station and, from there, the call was made to the emergency services,

While the couple awaited the ambulance, a doctor on the other end of the phone was advising the young mum what to do: how to breathe, as well as trying to calm down the mum-in-labour.

Before long, three ambulances, complete with crews, arrived at the station to assist the expectant, 26-year-old woman. They discovered, shortly, that they had arrived in the nick of time.

A doctor from one ambulance took over the fantastic work performed by the telephone doctor, before a baby girl presented herself to the world.

They were transferred to the university hospital, where they were admitted for observation and recovery.

Now, circumstances aside, the birth went smoothly and both mum and baby daughter are doing well.
