Two CD Tenerife players among those in raided hostess club
CD Tenerife have released a statement informing that they have opened an internal investigation after information became public that two of their players, Alberto Jiménez and Javi Alonso were in the hostess club that was raided by the police on Friday night.
As reported yesterday, the Santa Cruz Local Police were called to the club as it was breaking several Covid health regulations including the presence of drugs, smoking inside, and even being open in the first place.
In one of the photos released by the police on Twitter, despite blurring the faces of the people present at the premises, Alberto Jiménez has been identified.
Given this information, CD Tenerife has initiated an internal investigation "in order to clarify the facts and clarify responsibilities." The club has said that it applies "with utmost rigor the current unified protocols for training and competing in La Liga, and deeply regrets this type of behaviour that is unacceptable from all points of view, and even more so in the current social and health situation."
According to club sources they trained as normal yesterday morning, but it is most likely that they will not be taken into account for the match against Logroñés today, Sunday, as a preventive measure.
