Three people injured in head on collision in La Oliva
Three people were injured yesterday afternoon (Wednesday) in a head on crash between two cars on FV-10 by kilometre 22 in the municipality of La Oliva in Fuerteventura.
The Emergency Services Coordination Centre of the Canary Islands (Cecoes) received notification of the accident at just after 3pm, and sent two SUC ambulances to the scene of the accident, together with Firefighters of La Oliva and the Guardia Civil.
Once at the scene of the accident, firefighters released a trapped man from inside his vehicle as he couldn’t get out by his own means. SUC health personnel treated a second man suffering from a hip injury, a third man aged 53 years old, with cuts and bruises, and a 49 year old woman also with mild concussion.

The three injured were evacuated by ambulance to the General Hospital of Fuerteventura in Puerto del Rosario for further treatment and routine observation.
The Guardia Civil confirmed that no other vehicles were involved in the incident, and will wait until they can interview the injured parties to ascertain the cause of the accident.
