Injured man rescued by helicopter from Triana beach
A 52 year old man needed to be rescued by GES helicopter yesterday afternoon (Friday), from Triana beach after falling on rocks by the coast and breaking his hip.
The Coordinating Centre for Emergencies and Security (cecoes) of the Canary Islands received an emergency call at 2:39pm informing them of the beach accident, which is in the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana.
They were told that the man was unable to move due to the severity of his injury, so they dispatched an SUC ambulance and the emergency helicopter to the scene.
On arrival it was plain to see that recovery by land was not possible due to the terrain, so the helicopter took over and airlifted him to the Doctor Negrín University Hospital in Las Palmas for further treatment.
