NEW RESTRICTIONS ANNOUNCED FOR TENERIFE
The President of the Canary Islands, Ángel Víctor Torres, has announced new measures to stop the advance of Covid-19 in Tenerife, after the Extraordinary Government Council held today at the Presidency headquarters, in which, among other issues, it has been agreed to advance the curfew to 10pm, instead of keeping it at 11pm.
Regarding shopping centres, capacity is reduced to 33% of their capacity per floor. Parking capacity is also reduced to 50%.
Likewise, all sports activities carried out indoors and outdoors can only be carried out individually.
Activity inside bars and restaurants is suspended except for ordering take-away, while the capacity of the terraces is 50% and only those who are living together can sit together.
The Governing Council have also restricted entry and exit from the island, with Torres admitting that the new measures are "tough", with mobility restricted as established in art. 6 of the decree of state of alarm of October 25, that is, trips to attend health services, work obligations, return to usual places of residence, renewal of permits or other unavoidable procedures and any other cause of force majeure. and it is recommended to avoid travel between municipalities.
Christmas lunches and dinners are reduced to six people, with a maximum of two cohabiting units. Torres has confirmed that these new measures will take effect from Friday at midnight and will be in force for the next fifteen days.

The Minister of Health of the Canary Islands, Blas Trujillo, ruled out a confinement in Tenerife yesterday, saying thst the situation on the island is "quite remote" with respect to other territories that have taken measures of this nature.
