Man wanted in Italy for extortion and blackmail is arrested in Lanzarote
The National Police have arrested a 60-year-old Italian man in Lanzarote who has a warrant for his arrest issued by the authorities of his home country.
The Police authorities recently learned that an Italian citizen wanted internationally by the authorities of his country, could be temporarily residing on the island of Lanzarote in the municipality of Yaiza.
The man, who had a European arrest warrant for extradition, for extortion and blackmail, was located and detained by agents of the National Police in that municipality.
After the corresponding police report had been instructed, the detainee was placed at the disposal of the Central Court of Instruction No.5 of the National Court in Arrecife, awaiting deportation back to Italy.
