ITV grace period extended
Drivers with an (ITV) Technical Vehicle Inspection that expires between June 21 and August 31 have been given a 3-month extension to pass the ITV, according to José Luis Ábalos, Minister of Transport who confirmed that measure had been given the 'green light’ on Tuesday.
There is currently a huge backlog of cars needing an ITV as during the state of Alarm the testing centres were not operating and a grace period was given for any cars whose ITV expired between the start of the sate of Alarm and 24th May. It is calculated that during lockdown five million vehicles missed their ITV renewal.
Minister Ábalos stressed that the ITV extensions that expire before August 21 and transport or goods vehicles will be prioritised for inspection.
