Four injured, one of them seriously, in a crash on the GC-1 in Arinaga
A man has been rushed to the Insular University Hospital of Gran Canaria this afternoon (Sunday), with a serious head injury after being involved in the collision of two cars on the GC-1, southbound, as it passed through the Polygono Industrial of Arinaga.
Four women were also injured in the accident, one of them had a chest injury, for which she was taken to the same hospital for further treatment. The other three were not as seriously hurt, one has a leg injury, another with cervical pain, and the third with cuts and bruises, who were taken after roadside treatment, to the Doctor Negrín University Hospital in Las Palmas for routine observation.
The Emergency and Security Coordination Centre (Cecoes) received notification of the accident at 12.30pm this afternoon. Three SUC ambulances were dispatched to the scene, along with Fire-fighters of the Gran Canaria Emergency Consortium from Arinaga Park, agents of the Guardia Civil and members of the Road Maintenance Service of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria.
While the health personnel assessed and treated the injured, the Fire fighters proceeded to secure the area and the vehicles involved, while highway personnel removed the remains from the road, and the Guardia Civil was in charge of instructing the report.
