Coronavirus update: Saturday’s provisional data 9 deaths and 174 new cases
Nine people have died in the last 24 hours as a result of Covid-19 in the Canary Islands, a period in which 174 new infections have been registered in the archipelago, the majority in Tenerife, according to data from the Ministry of Health.
Tenerife has added 99 new cases, Gran Canaria 51, Lanzarote 13, Fuerteventura 10 and La Palma one, while in El Hierro and La Gomera there have been no new infections, according to an update of data provided at 2pm this afternoon.
A total of 270 people are still admitted to the islands hospitals as a result of the coronavirus, 203 are in wards, and 67 are in intensive care units, and in the last hours there have also been 54 medical discharges.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, there has now been a total of 12,952 positive cases in the Canary Islands, and 5,857 have recovered.
