26 kilos of cocaine arrived in the Canary Islands from Brazil
The Guardia Civil of the Port of La Luz and Las Palmas, in coordination with the Customs Surveillance officers of the Tax Agency, have intervened 26.2 kilos of cocaine in a cargo container.
The drugs were detected as a result of an ongoing investigation carried out on the transit of goods, especially from specific countries, to avoid drug trafficking and other illegal practices.
The agents checked the cargo manifest of a ship from Brazil, and exhaustively checked 213 containers, which resulted in locating in one of them of more than 26 kilos of cocaine hidden in the declared cargo of 540 sacks of sugar.
Finally, the drugs seized in conjunction with the police reports from the investigation have been given to the corresponding Courts in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
