Covid update: 7 deaths in Tenerife as data worsens on the island

Seven people have died in the last 24 hours from Covid related deaths in the Canary Islands, the highest daily number for almost two months, when nine people died on September 26th, according to data from the Ministry of Health.

All of them were in Tenerife, five men and two women, aged between 61 and 98 years old and all with various previous pathologies, bringing the number of deaths to 328.

Tenerife has also confirmed a coronavirus outbreak detected among the emergency nursing personnel of the Hospital Universitario de Canarias (HUC). After conducting screening tests among the 400 staff, a total of eight people have tested positive for Covid, which has not affected any of the admitted patients.

To make matters worse the IA7 in Tenerife has also increased, now registering 66.79, where as Lanzarote is the next highest on 22.33 and all the other islands are stabilized below 20.
