Adeje restaurants and cafes can request extra terrace space during the state of alarm
The Adeje City Council have announced that interested hospitality businesses may request the council to allow them putting tables and chairs in public space outside their premises while the state of alarm lasts. This measure has been agreed as a result of the latest decrees of the Government in the fight against Covid-19 that prohibit the use interior spaces in the catering sector over Christmas.
The government team together with the technical team have spent several days studying the most guaranteed form that benefits not only the business, but also the citizens. In this sense, the measures adopted by the Adeje City Council are not limited to their application in these fifteen days, but will be in force while the state of alarm lasts and will have no administrative cost.
This express measure will take effect immediately from the signing of the decree. Establishments interested in setting up tables and chairs outside must request authorization from the Adeje City Council.
If the space you want to use is privately owned, you must request it through a responsible statement, addressed to the Opening Area, requesting the modification of the activity of the space, and a plan or sketch of the terrace's situation.

In the event that the occupation is a public space, in addition to the previous procedure, the interested person must direct an instance to the Municipal Heritage Area for the use of said space, providing the required documentation.
The authorizations that are issued are as an exceptional, provisional, temporary measure, without meaning an increase in the capacity established in the license to open the premises. Applications will be evaluated by the technical staff of the City Council and their granting will depend on the location and situation of the establishment based on objective criteria of road safety. The procedure can be carried out in person by appointment or electronically through the website: www.adeje.es
