The Patagonia Grill, Goliath and Mesana restaurants in Playa Honda have announced they have voluntarily closed after their owner tested positive for coronavirus.

In a statement, the owner of the restaurant confirms that he has decided to close "voluntarily" in order not to put workers and customers at risk, after he was informed on Sunday night that he had tested positive in the PCR test that was carried out in the Molina Orosa Hospital in Arrecife.

He also points out, that so far he is the "only positive" registered in the workforce, and that his workers "will begin to take tests to clear up any doubts."

"At the moment we are working on all the necessary health protocols to know what the magnitude of this case is," says the owner of the three restaurants, who points out that he will reopen businesses "when they are in completely safe conditions."

Yesterday five residents and two tourists tested positive for Covid in Lanzarote, bringing active cases on the island to 33.
