Tenerife Cabildo expect rush of people to Teide for meteor showers
Over the next 3 nights there will be great views from Teide of the Perseid meteor showers.
The Tenerife Cabildo are preparing for a rush of people to the national park, and have taken special measures to avoid overcrowding and to ensure that people are able to observe the 1.5m social distancing to combat the spread of COVID-19.
To avoid excess traffic of vehicles, and people, there will be national park rangers on patrol in the most popular areas, and viewing spots.
The patrols will be in place to ensure that there is no overcrowding and people keep the social distancing rules, that car parking areas don't exceed the 50% capacity permitted.
The Cabildo also reminds the public that drinking in groups on the side of the road is not allowed, BBQs and picnics are banned, and that drinking out of boots of cars is also prohibited.
