Police are hunting for two men who broke into the Repsol El Volcán petrol station in Arafo yesterday, threatened the security guard with a pistol, and stole the contents of the slot machine.

The Guardia Civil is looking for a red Volkswagen Golf, in which the robbers fled, and are working on their identities from CCTV footage and description from the guard, who works for a private security company.

Before the state of alarm this petrol station was open 24 hours and had never had a robbery. Currently it is only open until midnight, something that the criminals took advantage of to carry out the assault.

This is the second González Group petrol station to be hit in a month, after the one in Las Zocas, San Miguel, was robbed at gunpoint as it was closing at 10pm. On that occasion robbers got away with 1,500 euros and 30 cartons of cigarettes.
