Nigerian woman stopped at Tenerife south airport with 75 drug capsules inside her body
The Guardia Civil has detained a 21-year-old Nigerian female at the Tenerife South airport, who had just landed from an internal flight and was carrying 75 drug capsules inside her body.
The agents were alerted to the presence of the passenger at the airport, who was flagged up after a previous analysis, raising suspicions that she could potentially be carrying drugs.
After being questioned, she was transferred to the Canary University Hospital to undergo a radiological examination, which showed signs of various foreign objects inside her body, for which she was admitted, in order to expel the ingested substances.
Once the hospital procedures were completed, a total of 75 capsules were found inside the detainee, 10 of a brown substance, which after the testing turned out to be heroin, and 65 of a white substance, which tested positive for cocaine, all with a total weight of 873 grams.
The detainee, along with the proceedings, has been made available to the Investigating Court of Granadilla de Abona, where the police service has been carried out by agents of the Reina Sofía Airport Tax Detachment, together with officials of the Customs Surveillance Operational Unit of the Tax Agency.
