Control for use of masks begins in Gran Canaria
This weekend state security forces have begun to reinforce the use of masks among the population.
On Saturday they started in Arona (Tenerife), while yesterday the device was deployed in the Gran Canaria municipality of Telde.
Many citizens wore face masks on the street, although in some cases agents also had to inform people of how to wear masks correctly, always in accordance with current protection guidelines.
It is reminded that in these cases, the mask is always mandatory:
- At all times that the interpersonal safety distance of at least 1.5 metres cannot be complied with, on public roads, in closed spaces, and outdoors.
- It is recommended to avoid staying in closed, crowded places and close to other people.
- The use of hygienic type masks is recommended, preferably reusable.
For a correct use of the mask, it must cover the mouth and nose completely at all times, fitting properly to the nose and chin so as to prevent the expulsion of respiratory secretions into the environment.
