Whilst on routine checks at the weekend for compliance with the health measures to prevent the transmission of Covid 19, they heard music coming from a bar which was apparently closed.

When they went to the local that the music was coming from, they saw four people come out of it, including the man 77 year old man who turned out to be the owner.

After questioning the man about the bar, they learned that it was an old leisure venue, which has been turned into a cannabis club, although he could not prove that this had been done legally.

Because of this, the police searched the premises and found more than 1,234 grams of marijuana that were distributed in cans, 300 grams of hashish, as well as 1,361 euros in fractional currency, and scales used for weighing the drugs.

The agents proceeded to arrest the man for illegally supplying drugs, taking him, along with everything that had been seized, to the main police station in Las Americas, where is now awaiting trial.
