Las Palmas Council again prohibits smoking on beaches after wrongly lifting ban
Las Palmas City Council has decided to rectify and reimpose the ban on smoking on beaches, in a resolution expected to be signed today (Wednesday).
The Council admits that there was a mixup in communication when they lifted the ban only last Friday. They hope to rectify this mistake today, by signing a resolution that reactivates the veto on tobacco use on the coast.
From the Ciudad de Mar area, led by José Eduardo Ramírez, it was reported that he will sign the resolution to reactivate the ban, since it is understood that cigarette ends are a possible source of contagion for Covid-19, and also because it goes against municipal policy, which is trying to eliminate this habit from the capital's beaches, permanently.
