Jet2 extends Canaries cancellations until October 18th
Jet2 has announced that it is cancelling more flights to the Canary Islands as the Foreign Office continues to warn against 'all but essential travel'. The airline was hoping to resume routes towards the end of September, but as the Foreign Office advice hasn't changed, they have extended the cancellations.
The travel firm said that it will be cancelling more flights to Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, until October 17th, and shared an update with customers on its official Twitter page, adding that for anyone with a holiday booked from 18th October 2020 onwards, an additional update will be given closer to the time.
Customers who are affected are currently being contacted and offered either a full refund, credit vouchers, or the option to rebook for a later date.
The tour operator recently revealed it would have to cancel holiday packages to Faro in Portugal until October 31st, as a result of the country's mainland being on the 'all but essential' travel list, and other affected destinations include mainland Spain and parts of Croatia.
