Injured hiker rescued by helicopter in Anaga, north Tenerife
A 24-year-old female hiker had to be rescued this afternoon (Saturday), after suffering a fall in Pico del Inglés in the Anaga area, north of Santa Cruz in Tenerife, as reported by the Emergency and Security Coordination Centre (Cecoes).
The woman suffered a leg injury after suffering a fall that stopped from being able to continue her walk, for which the GES Emergency and Rescue helicopter was sent to retrieve her.
Arriving at the scene, the air rescue crew had to airlift her to safety due to the dangerous topography of the land, and took her to the Heli-pad at La Guancha.
There, an SUC ambulance from the Canary Islands Emergency Services was waiting, whose staff attended to her and then transferred her to the Hospital del Norte for further treatment.
