Illegal settlements inspected on Granadilla coast before eviction
The City Council of Granadilla de Abona and the Provincial Coastal Service carried out an inspection on Thursday, of illegal settlements in the area between Agua Dulce, in Los Abrigos, and La Mareta.
The Local Police of Granadilla and technicians from Costas are anticipating that after this process to identify the problem, a full eviction will take place in the near future.
The Councillor for Security of Granadilla, María Candelaria Rodríguez, points out that they are working together with the rest of the administrations, to solve this problem in the bathing areas and beaches of the municipality.
She added that on Monday notification was received from Costas for this inspection service; giving them full police support from the City Council.
The next step, once this procedure is completed, will be the final eviction.
The Town Hall all said they will be acting soon in other points of the coast, such as the ravines near the Hermano Pedro caves, and those bordering the IES El Médano and El Topo.
For these, the local government has been working together with the Government Subdelegation, the General Directorate of Costas, the Government of the Canary Islands and the Cabildo de Tenerife, as well as with the owners of the affected land, and the State Security Forces acquiring the commitment of the supra-municipal administrations, that after the evictions at La Caleta in Adeje, Granadilla de Abona would be the next place where they would proceed to act.
