Help the local economy… eat McDonalds!
McDonald's has just announced the launch of a new hamburger designed to support the Spanish economy in the current crisis, for which the origin of each ingredient in this new burger will be 100% local. The project was born as a response to the company's commitment to the primary sector, at a particularly relevant time due to the economic situation caused by the health crisis.
It is a proposal based entirely on local products, and was born from the alliance with different suppliers from different regions of Spain who will be in charge of supplying the meat, bread, vegetables and other ingredients that will make up the new hamburger.
This new launch, which will be available soon in the more than 500 restaurants that McDonald's has in Spain, reinforces the company's commitment to the national market and its commitment to the consumer, offering products made with the highest quality ingredients of local origin. And the fact that more than 70% of the purchase volume of McDonald's Spain, comes from suppliers in our country.
Thanks to this initiative, the company reaffirms its commitment to the needs of society. Since, with the incorporation of this hamburger to its product menu, it favours the primary sector, which is suffering the economic consequences from the effect of Covid-19 in restaurants.
Natalia Echeverria, Marketing Director of McDonald's Spain, said “I am especially proud to announce this launch, which will be possible thanks to the collaboration and efforts of many people, both from the company and from our suppliers. From the first moment we have had their maximum involvement, and that is why we are convinced that we have a great product. I believe that, at this moment, the brands, each one from its scope of action, have a duty to act in a responsible manner, and to contribute proactively to the economic recovery of the country.”
