Earthquake 'shakes' several municipalities of Gran Canaria

The epicenter of the tremblehas been pinpointed about 50 kilometres from the coast, at a depth of about 22 kilometres.

The National Geographic Institute (IGN) registered an earthquake on Friday night with a magnitude of 3.6 degrees on the Richter scale, which took place in the vicinity of Gran Canaria, and was felt in several municipalities in the south east of the Island, as several people reported things 'shaking' in their homes.

The epicenter of the movement has been located about 50 kilometres from the coast and has been located in the sea, at a depth of about 22 kilometres, according to IGN records.
