The Tourist Information Offices of La Villa and Costa Teguise, as well as the beaches of Las Cucharas, El Jablillo and Playa Bastián, have renewed their seal of "Commitment to Tourist Quality" which is granted by the Secretary of State for Tourism, and certifies compliance with the requirements established in the SICTED methodology, the Comprehensive System of Spanish Tourist Quality in Destinations.

This certification is valid for 2 years (2020-2021) and guarantees "a level of quality and competitiveness in accordance with a demanding market," according to the City Council. "To all the public and private institutions that have managed to endorse this certificate, my most sincere congratulations," said the mayor of Teguise, Oswaldo Betancort, noting that "at this time we must come out stronger than ever so that our tourist facilities and our offer of services has no competition with other destinations.”

"The economic activity that generates our main source of income will recover and, in the meantime, we must continue working and have our homework done for when we recover optimal tourist influx," added Betancort, who considers that "in addition to achieving by merits of our own, it is the experience and satisfaction of those who visit us, which will once again conquer the loyalty of tourists in Lanzarote, we need now more than ever the financial commitment of the regional government, the State and Europe.”
