Coronavirus update: 35 medical discharges in last 24 hours

Most of these discharges are from the pateras that landed in the islands at the end of June and earlier in July.

The Ministry of Health announced yesterday that the process of dealing with the immigrants when they arrive, has been a 100% success so far, as their immediate isolation and testing has led to zero contagion to other people, hence why they believe these numbers should not be included on the Canary Islands data.

There are also four new cases of coronavirus as follows: 2 in Lanzarote, 1 in Gran Canaria and 1 in Tenerife.

According to the latest data from the Ministry of Health the Canary Islands now has:

Deaths: 0 for 45 days
Total deaths: 162
New cases: 4
Total cases: 2,616
Discharges in last 24 hours: 35
Total discharges: 2,286
Active cases: 168

Of the active cases: 155 are at home/isolation, 12 are in hospital wards, and 1 is in Intensive Care.
