Coronavirus update: 289 new cases and 2 more deaths

Friday 25th September:
There were 289 new cases detected, of these 155 are in Gran Canaria, 83 in Tenerife, 23 in Lanzarote, 22 in Fuerteventura, 3 in La Palma, and 3 in La Gomera.

203 people medically discharged on Friday, of these there were 158 in Gran Canaria, 27 in Lanzarote, 10 in Fuerteventura, 7 in in El Hierro who are now Covid-free with no active cases, and none in Tenerife.

Unfortunately there were 2 more fatalities yesterday, meaning that 221 people have now died in the Canary Islands having tested positive for Covid-19, one of them was in their 40s and the other in their 60s, both with underlying health problems.

According to the latest data from the Ministry of Health the Canary Islands now has:
Deaths: 2 (1 in Tenerife and 1 in Lanzarote)

Active cases: 6,754

Of the active cases: 6,479 are at home/isolation, 210 are in hospital wards, and 65 are in Intensive Care.
