Covid update: Canary Islands passes 20,000 cases of coronavirus

The Canary Islands have added 139 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, of which 108 have been detected in Tenerife, meaning that the archipelago has accumulated a total of 20,002 cases since the start of the pandemic.

There were also two new Covid related deaths in Tenerife, which brings the death toll to 319 for the islands, an 84 year old man and a 101 year old woman.

As for the tests, a total of 555,105 tests have been carried out so far, 3,704 yesterday, of which 25,746 were positive, representing 4.6% of the total.
