Covid update: Active cases drop again, lowest number since 11th September

Tuesday 20th October:
There were 126 new cases detected, of these 67 were in Gran Canaria, 51 in Tenerife, 6 in Lanzarote, and 2 in Fuerteventura.

Active cases reduced yesterday by 208 to 6,341, the lowest figure since September 11th, 39 days ago, as there were 330 people medically discharged. 119 of these were in Tenerife and 91 were in Gran Canaria.

Also there were four Covid related deaths yesterday, of which three were men and one woman, between the ages of 53 and 80 all with previous pathologies. Two were in Tenerife, one in Gran Canaria and the other in Fuerteventura, with the total death toll rising to 262.

According to the latest data from the Ministry of Health the Canary Islands now has:

Of the active cases: 6,065 are at home/isolation, 227 are in hospital wards, and 49 are in Intensive Care.
