Covid update: Active cases drop again! 267 discharges, 141 new cases

Friday 16th October:
There were 141 new cases detected, of these 105 in Tenerife, 29 are in Gran Canaria, 5 in Fuerteventura, 4 in Lanzarote, 1 in La Palma, and -3 in El Hierro.

Active cases dropped in Gran Canaria by 199, although there was also one Covid related death on that island too (a man in his 60s), in total there were 267 medical discharges.

The Ministry of Health updated the restrictive measures in the islands yesterday, based on their accumulated incidence, so that the islands of Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura and La Gomera go to a green light due to the improvement of the data. El Hierro, La Palma and Lanzarote remain green, and Tenerife is the only one to stay red for another week.

According to the latest data from the Ministry of Health the Canary Islands now has:

Of the active cases: 6,229 are at home/isolation, 231 are in hospital wards, and 52 are in Intensive Care.
