Coronavirus update: 85 new cases, 503 actives, only 88 not Canaries residents
Tuesday 11th August:
There were 85 new cases detected, of these 59 are in Gran Canaria, 20 in Tenerife, 4 in Lanzarote, and 2 in Fuerteventura.
Of the 503 total active cases, 88 (17%) are not residents of the Canary Islands, and are from outside the archipelago whether irregular migrants or tourists.
Total cases since the pandemic began have now passed 3,000.
95% of new cases registered, are in those under 30 years of age.
According to the latest data from the Ministry of Health the Canary Islands now has:
Total deaths: 164
New cases: 85
Total cases: 3,044
Discharges in last 24 hours: 3
Total discharges: 2,377
Active cases: 503
Of the active cases: 475 are at home/isolation, 27 are in hospital wards, and 1 is in Intensive Care in Tenerife.
