Arrecife council reopens outdoor municipal sports facilities
The Sports Department of the Arrecife City Council has started to reopen their outdoor sports facilities, which will allow sports to be practiced in the new normal, following a series of health recommendations to avoid any type of contagion, with opening hours from 4pm to 10pm.
The mayor of Arrecife, Ástrid Pérez, hopes that "soon all our citizens will be able to count on and enjoy the public facilities. The reopening is being carried out jointly and agreed by all local administrations," she said.
"In this time of closure due to Covid-19, the maintenance and improvement works at the facilities have been reinforced, which will still continue during the summer," added the mayor.
The Councillor for Sports of the Arrecife City Council, Roy González, said that "outdoor sports facilities can begin to be used, as long as the recommendations that users will find in their access areas are met," and points out that "it is very important that we all maintain caution and stay hygienic when practicing sports."
Over the last few days, a series of information panels have been placed at all sports facilities, giving basic information for the use of the outdoor areas. Among the recommendations, it should be noted that the activity is intended for sports without continuous physical contact, and with a maximum number of 20 people, maintaining the interpersonal distance of at least one and a half metres and, if this is not possible, the use of a mask will be mandatory.
