Arrecife airport's main terminal will return to operation on Sunday
The management of the César Manrique Lanzarote airport says that the main terminal will start service again on Sunday, as Spain's borders reopen to welcome tourists and an increased number of visitors from the mainland.
The inter-island terminal, which has been used for all flights recently, both short-haul and those linked to the peninsula, will close.
The change is due to the increase in operations and passenger traffic, since the start of phase 3 of the government de-escalation plan allowing inter-island travel.
If necessary both terminals could operate side by side if numbers allow.
In May 8,288 travellers passed through the airport on 360 flights, which was a sharp increase from the 3,142 passengers on 360 flights in April.
Junes figures are expected to increase again with the opening of Spain's borders on 21st June.
