Telefónica has activated 5G in Fuerteventura, so that five municipalities on the island will have 5G coverage by the end of the year thanks to a deployment that will make it possible to cover more than 85% of the islands population, which is above the national average of 75%.

Before the end of the year they will have 5G coverage in Antigua, La Oliva, Pájara, Puerto del Rosario and Tuineje. This means that these areas of Fuerteventura will soon be able to enjoy the advantages of the next generation of mobile telephony that allows ultra-fast connectivity, very low latency and the capacity to connect millions of devices.

From the point of view of the users in these five municipalities, thanks to 5G, they will be able to download a movie in seconds, enjoy live sports with a 360º experience, and watch any angle of the match as if they are on the court.

Fans of gaming will have a mobile experience similar to that provided by fibre at home, that is, without interruptions or latency, as the new 5G coverage will allow playing on a mobile phone as if it were on the screen of the home computer or on a video game console.
