Arrecife Local Police issues 52 fines for not complying with the use of a mask
The Local Police of Arrecife has intensified its work in recent weeks to ensure compliance with the measures adopted by the Government of the Canary Islands to contain the pandemic on the islands. Since August 31st agents have processed a total of 52 sanctions to people for the l incorrect use of a mask.
During the last few days, twelve more offenses of this type have been added, but their work has gone further as the new rules included a ban on smoking in open spaces, if a minimum safe distance from people around you is not observed. For this, they have been forced to report up to seven people for not respecting the rule.
Also officers have been closely watching that social meetings or gatherings do not exceed ten members, which is the maximum capacity in certain events. They have only recorded seven administrative complaints for not complying with this measure so far.
Finally, several inspections have also been carried out in commercial premises, in a joint action with the Public Health Inspection of Lanzarote.
Seven of these inspections showed premises that were not conditioned to ensure safe visits by customers. Two have closed on a precautionary basis, and the remaining five have a period of ten days to correct the anomalies.
In the case of both closures, they occurred at the request of the Public Health inspection and without prejudice to the complaints that were made to them for the observed infractions.
