Now we’re Helping Feet!

THE Helping Hands children’s charity, has turned its attention to a group of youthful, South American footballers, who, it believes, are being short-changed.

Liz Montague, who runs the charity, said: “We are pleased to be able to help this youth group, Cafeteros, who play football in the local league.

“They have some excellent players, but they’ve been unable to continue because, while Town Halls give grants to the Canarian teams, they won’t give one to this team as they are all foreigners.

“We think it’s important to keep the kids off the street, and playing a sport is a good way to do that. So, we bought their football strip and they have a Helping Hands logo printed on them.”

She added: “We love working with fellow-charity association Happy to Help, who keep finding these fantastic causes to help as many people as possible on our island.”
