The Volcano erupts, sparking a manhunt

A CRIMINAL, known as The Volcano, is being hunted by the Guardia Civil and Local Police for his alleged involvement in torching two caravans and wooden shack in El Puertito, Armeñime.

It is the home of his former partner, whom he assaulted before starting the blaze, then fled the area.

The fire started at around 3.30pm on Wednesday. It mainly affected the caravan in which the victim lived, before spreading to the other caravan and the  shack by the time firefighters arrived.

Local Police, along with the Guardia Civil, promptly began an intensive manhunt in the Playa Paraiso area. But as we went to press, the 31-year-old suspect, identified as JFGG, had still not been located.

The Volcano, a well-know criminal with an extensive police record, was arrested on Tuesday for a similar incident in an abandoned hotel in Callao Salvaje.

But after appearing before magistrates on Wednesday, he was released and headed straight to his ex-partner’s residence, where he assaulted her physically. He was then believed to have torched her caravan home.
