A smooth drive into El Medano planned

GRANADILLA council has invested a total of 1,40,000 euros on a maintenance project, for, specifically, the main El Medano access road, starting next week.

The road will be resurfaced and widened, maintenance will be carried out on the drainage system, and a five-month deadline has been set.

Ofelia Manjon, Tenerife’s head of island roads and landscapes, has stressed that the work is mainly to reinforce the road surface, and the plan is to recycle the tarmac already in place.

Road-safety has also been an issue on this road, with rainwater not being drained properly, which is why the drainage system will be reinforced, and ditches will be made deeper to collect rainwater after heavy storms.

Manjon also said the road would be much safer after the maintenance, especially as some 20,000 cars use this road daily.

Granadilla Council is also preparing projects on areas in the municipality, particularly on the TF-555, TF-21 and the TF-28.

In addition to the road maintenance, there are also projects for landscaping and improving these areas.
